Celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Republic of Korea in Seoul on Aug. 15 - For his life time contributions in Martial Arts Sports, Dr. Kyung Ho "Ken" Min of Korea Judo Association in USA was selected, one of 40 people from the pool of 7 million Koreans living abroad, as an honorary committee member of the Republic of Korea's 60th anniversary celebration events. The current democratic Korean Government was established sixty years ago. Forty Koreans living abroad have been invited to attend the celebration for a period of 4 days before and after August 15 in Korea. 2008 Asian Judo Championship

The 2008 Asian Judo Championships took place in Jeju, Korea, on the 26th and 27th of April. Given the importance of the competition, which was a qualifying event for the Olympic Games, the level of judo was a high one and the event was catalogued as a success.

Besides the very good organization and the high number of participants, the Championships offered to the world of judo a very interesting and most of all important moment for Olympic Qualification.

Mr. Marius Vizer, the President of the International Judo Federation was present at the event and on the occasion of the awarding ceremony, he offered an IJF Golden Medal to Mr. Obaid Al-Anzi – President of the Judo Union of Asia and another IJF Golden Medal to Mr. Kim Jung Haeng – President of the Korean Judo Federation.
